Summary: Elizabeth gets mail from a friend, and John learns something surprising!
A/N: I swore I'd never do a song-fic, but this just wouldn't let go until I wrote it down!

I have misplaced my muse for Stargate Atlantis.  Stupid muse keeps getting lost right after I pitch ideas to her...those dang muses.  Fortunately, another muse popped in for a visit.  I've recently gotten hooked on the Law and Order spinoff called Conviction, which unfortunately seems doomed to end after only half a season.  Oh well.

The final episode of the season saw two gunmen (one of which is a murderer/rapist) take a courtroom hostage with all our favorite ADA's inside!  They all got out of it ok, but I started to think about other ways the situation could have gone.  This is my take on the episode, at least as much of it as my muse would help me write tonight.  We'll see if she sticks around for the ending.

I don't know if anyone who sees my journal even watches this show, but I must follow the muse that shows up at my door.  Maybe next time it'll knock first. :-)

I swore I'd never do a song fic, but this one grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go until I wrote it down.  I'm hoping I managed to do it in a different way than the traditional "song fic."

I don't know if anyone here likes country music, but I'm from the Southern United States so I grew up with it.  Basically this is just a fun little fic that I now think of every time I hear this song. :-)
